I dont know how many boxing fans frequent this forum but for those of you who are what did you think of The Golden Boy's performance this past week? I thought he looked great and should give Mayweather a much better fight this time around.
Just like Emanual Steward said, Oscar may have the greatest jab in history of boxing. If he uses it against Mayweather the way he did against this guy he would have a very good chance of winning this time.
I agree. I thought he looked very good. I think he can beat Mayweather. I don't know if he will but he has the ability. His jab did look sharp. He used it effectively against Mayweather in the last fight but abandoned it in the later rounds for some reason.
If you're a boxing fan, I encourage you to watch James Kirkland on May 17 on HBO. He's an exciting fighter with tremendous power at 154.
I believe Mayweather Vs Dela Hoya will be at 147 this time instead of 154, Mayweather will be at the weight he should be at. I say a 12 round victory for Mayweather.
I'm waiting and hoping to someday see Mayweather vs Cotto.

I hope that Cotto calls out Mayweather after he beats Margarito later this year. That fight has "Hagler vs. Hearns" written all over it but I think Cotto will walk away with the K.O.
I really think Mayweather is afraid of Cotto. I personally dont see him beating Cotto.
I agree. I think Cotto will win that one if they fight. Mayweather is still clinging to the weak argument that Cotto isn't a superstar so he's not going to fight him.
I thought Oscar looked his age and certainly on the downslide. He was fighting an opponent who was less talented to begin with and who had fallen from his peak even further than Oscar has. Easy for Oscar to appear sharper and better than he actually is fighting such an opponent.
Oscar, even in his prime, could not beat Mayweather. He is lucky in their first fight that Mayweather didn't embarrass him and make the mismatch obvious. This would've ruled out any rematch and a big payday for them both. It's all about marketing. Oscar looks "impressive" against and over-matched "name" opponent in order to give the appearance that his rematch with Floyd will be more than competitive.
