Top 10 Winter Cities - Bozeman, MT | Livability

Agreed. Even without the normal snowfall this year, Hyalite Canyon has provided some really good xc skiing and snowshoeing. People are very active and the town is very accommodating with cycling and running (snowplowing etc.).

Would be nice to see all the lifts open at Bridger and Moonlight though.

Love Bozeman!

yes I love how people in Bozeman get out in the winter. On Christmas day my wife went up Hyalite. She had her snowshoes, I had by back country ski setup. It was a beautiful day. There were all kinds of people up there, snowshoers,x country skiers, sledders. Those groomed trails over by the hospital are fun too.

We were high on the Bangtail on Christmas Eve and the view of both the Bridgers and the Spanish Peaks were phenomenal. We saw several folks as well.

So much to do...so much to do.

Edit: And hyalite XC trails yesterday were excellent. They began to get busy about 1pm, but we were nearly through by then. The morning was exceptional in solitude and snow quality!

But this winter... we have less than half the snow we normally have.
I don't remember ever having a January when the skating rinks were not ready.
