How is Bozeman for a mid 20s single male?

I was raised in Bozeman, used to be a great place. I graduated High School from Bozeman Senior, worked in several industries there for several years too. I left in 1991 because it was no longer Bozeman, it was Apen North as the yuppie larvae infested the place and because the prices of everything went up to mirror the new pretentiousness, normal folks were priced out.
To me it was like watching a beloved friend you had known all your life dying slowly of cancer as the new mcmansion developments ate away at lush fields and tore the guts out of forests and mountains I had known and loved all my life.

Yeah, there are some blue collar jobs in Bozeman, but you can bet most of the people doing those jobs live in Belgrade, Manhattan, Livingston or at least away from the city center.

My brother for instance works heavy equipment in Bozeman and has for years. He drives from Big Timber, 60 miles each direction, daily to work. It's sad that isn't uncommon.

For the OP, Yes there are a lot of 20 something people in Bozeman, especially around the college. There may even be groups that will enjoy the same things you do, but just be warned, there is a huge amount of pretention in Bozeman these days. It will probably be necessary to go outside city limits to find good solid down to earth folks to associate with.

Stacey's in Gallatin Gateway used to be a good place to meet locals and have fun.

I found Bozeman to be a very pretentious place with some of the rudest people I've met anywhere. I found western Montana to be very close minded, especially with the attitude toward outsiders. Many assumed all outsiders were out to ruin their "way of life." I also couldn't stand the way people in Montana romanticized their state so much. People had this belief that just because there were pretty mountains around a person should be grateful even if it meant struggling just to make ends meet. Mind you this is not based on living in Montana a short time. I lived in Montana 16 years.

There are blue collar areas in Bozeman and the outskirts. If you look at the housing developments in along Baxter and Durston, and also out by Four Corners, that is much more affordable. Where we live the houses are cheaper with smaller yards, and it is definitely more of the boxed housing feel, but the kids all run around and play with each other, and it is more teachers, carpenters, plumbers type of workers living in our neighborhoods.

I have found Bozeman to be one of the friendliest places I have ever lived-and very welcoming to outsiders like myself.Why do you come around just to poison this forum with all of your negativity? You never have anything positive, interesting, or helpful to say.

Do you think that he/she has just as much right to say they don't like a place, as you have to say you do like it. Dont attack others for their input.
