And in its honor, may I recommend the Maurice Hilleman Vaccine Symposium at MSU, 7 hours worth of very interesting (at least to this long-ago MSU biochem/microbiology major... at the time virology was still just one class) video on current vaccine research. You'll need to skip ahead a bit to the action.

I'm a 3rd generation Montanan living in Idaho. We just checked out MSU for my son for engineering. The unfortunate thing is that MSU is so popular now it's almost impossible to qualify for WUE scholarships. Out of state costs - tuition/room/board - would be $35k. For that cost I could send him to many other universities. Montana almost makes it impossible to get state residence too - you can only go part time and all scholarships require full time status.
Great collage (as a Griz grad, I can't believe I said that ! ) but not for us.

Or you can do what I did and move to MT, establish residency, live for a year, then attend as an in-state. By the way, MT Tech is cheaper and has higher paid grads. I'm a Digger.

If you wait the year, you lose all of your scholarships out of high school. You have to weigh the pros and cons of doing that with the other choices. It looks like he's going to get better scholarships and opportunities from a different university so we're choosing to go elsewhere.

MT is and always be home for us.

Fair enough. Best of luck to him.

My husband is a Griz too.
