I live in Idaho and am in the process of trying to adopt a baby tortoise from a woman that lives in Bozeman. There are a lot of scammers selling these tortoises and I have had a few red flags. I just want to make sure this woman is for real and there is a turtle. If I lived closer and had a car I would take the day long drive myself, but I can't. I don't know if there is anyone willing to check this woman out before I send money to her.

Why not have her take it to a local pet store, then you call the pet store on their listed phone number to verify the woman and the turtle.
