Mabey Baucus will get holy O to Big Sky. Then we can ask the paranormal folks to summon spirits to put a permanant forcefield over it and we can all walk away patting ourselves on the back for a job well done. We might even get a few attaboys for it!

I detest everything this guy is doing to our country but, please, please, don't do that.

It alrady happened, in Billings, many years ago. I forget which Prez it was, but he landed here during hunting season, and the USSS just about had a hissy fit because of all the pickups running around with rifles in rear window gun racks.
I understand the Chief of Police sat them down and explained Montana facts of life to them. they still were not very happy, but they decided (correctly) that there wasn't much that could be done about the situation.

You gotta wonder... no President could be so ignorant (I hope!) as to not realise Montana is hunting country and that fall is hunting season, and you'd hope that no USSS agent is that ignorant either. So... my suspicious side wonders if this sort of visit-timing and hissy fit is deliberate, as a means of undermining gun ownership.

Kudos to that anonymous Chief of Police, tho. Maybe if more of us explained the facts of life to those who would change our lives, rather than kowtowing to whatever the visiting master wants, it would halt some of the erosion of our Constitutional freedoms.

===

It bothers me too, that a security force would not recognise that those rifles toted around in every pickup truck make a good line of defense. What sort of maniac would draw a bead on the President, knowing that the moment he does so, 50 rednecks will draw a bead on HIM? At the very least, it would thwart any attempt at a public assassination, if only cuz an assassin, once seen, would never get that far.

Goes to show how We The People are now viewed as The Enemy by our own government. Aren't we supposed to be on the same side??

Hey, I'm a rabid gun owner, NRA member and US Army Veteran, all of which makes me one of 'the enemy' in the eyes of some in our government! But tell me what hunting season is on right now and isn't it still Summer?!!

So, I say again: DON'T GO DRIVING AROUND BOZEMAN WITH GUNS IN YOUR PICKEM UP TRUCKS. DON'T.
