New Jersey and Long Beach california have the same average dew points each summer. And year round new jersey has a much lower average dew point than Long Beach california. So enough with the 'new jersey is sticky' crap.If new jersey is sticky than so is Long Beach California. If new jersey had long beach like winters than they would have the same exact year round dew point averages.Long beach is humid

Something doesn't add up, if you have been to a New Jersey beach or a So Cal beach in summer, you will notice a great difference in humidity.

I think the humidity in NJ is similar to Florida humidity. However, these past few summers hear in the northeast have not been so hot I do not think. I remember in the 90's the heat waves lasted longer. I was always told one of the great things about SoCal was the mild weather. I assumed that meant winters not so cold, and summers not that hot and humid.

I have no idea who's bubble you just burst, but try this next August, go to a Long Beach beach, then fly to Newark and wander down to a New Jersey beach, see if you can feel the difference.

Sorry, they feel NOTHING alike. As someone who grew up in the Northeast and then moved to Southern CA, there is no comparison.

My first summer in CA (many years ago) I was amazed at how cool and comfortable the summer nights were(and dry). That you could sleep with the windows open and have a comforter on you.

Try doing that on the east coast in the summer, you would be dying.

You sound like someone who has never even been to CA.
