I am looking at buying a 16-18 flatbed equipment type trailer and then finding a used truck camper or pop up camper and mounting it onto the trailer. I have done some research and came to the conclusion that I will be fine with the weight. And I know my towing rig can handle the wieght.
My question to you is have you seen this done before and do you have any ideas on how to go about mounting the two together.

Yes.. its affectionately known as a Kentucky motor home

All you have to do is put so eyebolts in the trailer and then turnbuckle the camper down... make sure you use good quality eye bolts and try to put them through a cross member and not just through the deck... for better holding strength

And don't forget the duct tape.

But seriously, when I've seen it done it seemed to work out fine.

you may want to concider a utility bed trailer if you want to mount a camper, it's the one on service trucks, it hides the sides of the camper and gives you all the storage compartments for your gear, the sides are a little taller than a truck so you need to build a raised floor for the camper to sit on. If you use a flat bed trailer you need to get a trailer with the same width as the camper and fill in the sides with a sheet that matches the camper. I've seen a few that turn out nice some don't but set up right they are good rigs for hauling additional equipment when camping.
