3/4 ton full size passenger (window) van with a tow package. You won't get away with anything less than a 3/4 ton vehicle with that many people.

My 3/4 ton cargo van gets 18 mpg and there is no reason that the same van fitted with seats and windows would not get the same.

sure a 3/4 or a 1ton van would work but the OP has found a vehicle...

That should be a good one! I bought a new 2000 F250 with a 7.3 and still drive it daily. Solid and proven engine.
