My DH and I traveled the US in our motorhome for 3 1/2 years. It ruined us for house living, lol. After 3-4 months we are always ready to hit the road. We now have smaller rv and are getting ready to travel again for about 5 months I can't wait.
"We "wintered over" in Montana in it".... didn't you get the memo ? It's north in the summer, south in the winter.

When one is a contract worker, one goes where the contract is, or where you are licensed. There was no contract available in So. CA at the time, and she was not licensed in AZ, TX, or NM. We didn't do East of the Mississippi.
As of October, I would have now lived in my minivan / Honda for 1 year! Survived all seasons and all kinds of weather. It's like "army training" but oh it wasn't harsh living in my minivan during a 12F blizzard in KY.
I've been in mine for a few long stretches. I don't think I've made it an entire year but the last few years I probably have more time in the RV than I do stick & brick homes.
I've been to some incredible places including Alaska & Yellowstone NP.

I am so excited to do this. Congratulations on living your life on your terms. We are shooting for going full time in the summer of '23. Me and husband and a 9 year old (hes 6 now). We are going to do some short and long trips in the meantime but plan on starting by selling the house and hitting the road for a minimum of 6 months or for as long as we want.

We have only spent a week or less in our 25' travel trailer, using it as a home office now. I did, however, spend 2-1/2 months living out of my 1964 Buick Skylark wagon back in 1971, at age 19. A friend and I went 18,000 miles and visited 44 states. We never stayed at a hotel, though 4 times we spend a day or a few days with friends (Portland Oregon, Mc Laughlin, South Dakota, Waddington NY, and Chalmette, Louisiana. Most days I slept in the front seat, my friend in the back, sometimes getting rousted by the local cops.
8 years traveling mostly west of the Rockies. Tried to stay out of RV parks....neighbors are too close for me...we stayed mostly on private properties. Most RV parks also had a vehicle limit...we traveled with 2 trucks, one to pull the RV, and one to pull a cargo trailer with our motorcycles and kayaks. We would head north in the summer and usually to Yuma in the winter.
