Noami and Dusting Grevemberg, both 35, grew tired of a conventional life and wanted more. Two years ago, the couple sold all their belongings, quit their jobs, invested in a van, and hit the road. They haven’t looked back since.

On the flip side, a lot of people give up on the life of an adventurer within a couple years. It is the usually the female half that misses the luxuries of a real home.
I can't help bu wonder if full time adventurers hated their jobs or love their adventures more. Most adventurers have come to find out that adventures often come with seriously trying challenges.
Our family did a rtw trip for 11 months in 2006/7 and we lived out of a car so we slept in tents most nights. It was a great way to live and I would do it again. We'd have rather had a van but our budget was tight. The girls were 12 and 14.
We used to travel Europe with a car and a tent. That was a fantastic experience for a youth. Things were far less crowded and there was a lot more freedom back in those days.
When I travel now, I am taken aback by all of the signage, restrictions, warnings and fines posed all over the place. It is almost as if this government wants us to be sitting at home consuming crap that we do not need whilst singing praises to this government...which "makes all things possible".
Wouldn't work for us. My wife and I really like our home, our kitties, our movie evenings and we like familiar surroundings. Neither of us enjoy travel either....been there, done that. They can have it.

So you post on a Camping and RV board because? Campers like unfamiliar surroundings, generally a requisite to adventure.
It's a public forum, the thread just caught my eye. I've never understood the fascination with travel and thought I might gain some insight. It's not a criticism of anyone or their life style choices, just an admission that it wouldn't work in our case. It just seems like such a huge amount of trouble but I do respect people that can get up and be on the go all the time like that. No offense intended.
