Cape Breton singer/songwriter Rita MacNeil passed away yesterday at age 68.

She was a great singer, who also wrote some memorable songs back in late 80s/ early 90s.

She had her own TV show in mid 90s, I went to taping back in 1995,
a very talented lady, also kinda shy too.

I'm far to young to have developed a liking for her music, but I will say I appreciate how she showcased Alternative bands on her show. I remember seeing Rusty on that show and I was shocked. Talk about a clash of cultures! Fair play to her.

And it was hilarious seeing her on Trailer Park Boys.

RIP
