Not point really just didn't see the other thread in time... What is all the hate aboot?
Hate? I'm not seeing it but if you are it probably is coming from topics that seems to be implying that Canadians cant get over to Syria fast enough to join in the fighting...
So a few people from Syria who have immigrated to Canada are returning to Syria to fight for whatever reason are now considered as representing Canada? absurd proposition,

Not only is it absurd but highlights the issue of the "Canadians of convenience" who attain citizenship but who then use that priviledge to get their azzes out a bind after performing some stupidity within their original country.
Leave momma and the kiddies here for healthcare and welfare but return back to Afghanistan or Iraq to fight with the Taliban or Al-Queda AGAINST Canadian or coalition troops, would be an example of such.
Immediate removal of Canadian citizenship and deportation (after serving whatever sentence he may have attained through prosectuion for any crimes he has committed) back to whatever chit-hole he left should be the treatment for one such as this.

I wonder what Canadian law says about:
1) Canadian nationals taking arms against Canadian Forces personnel, abroad or within Canada.
2) Canadian nationals enlisting in foreign militaries without prior sanction (if law allows such sanction) from the Canadian government.
Of course, 2) would include the British military, U.S. military, French Foreign Legion, and presumably the Togolese Armed Forces, or LTTE. Though I would expect that LTTE, designated a terrorist organization by the Canadian government, would be a specific exception.
