I don't even know why this was brought up. I mean Montreal I believe is a pretty big software market so I guess I could see why one would get paid more there than in Vancouver. That said, I doubt this would be the case across all industries.
I'm not even sure why one would be high fiving posts made 8 years ago basically stating that if anyone makes a comment about where Canada does things better than another country, that it is due to some sort of superiority complex. No it is about calling a spade a spade. Fact is, we do do things better than other countries and others better than us. It depends on what is of value to a society. Universal healthcare works here because it is aligned with our collective values as Canadians. 52 weeks off for mat/pat leave per year is here because it is aligned with our collective values. If it doesn't work in another country because it doesn't work with theirs so be it. If they don't want more vacation time and a better work/life balance so be it - it is their choice and rock on.
