What are the chances of getting attacked by a grizzly bear at whistler?

Slim. There are very few grizzlies in the Squamish-Whistler-Pemberton-Lillooet regions (less than 70) and they try to avoid humans. Sightings have been deep in the remote back country regions, not near towns. Anyone sighting a grizzly in those regions is required to report it to wildlife conservation authorities.
The back country areas from Squamish to Lillooet have lots of black bears and cougars, few grizzlies and wolves so there's more likelihood of hikers having a run in with black bears and cougars than with grizzlies and wolves.
Throughout all of BC the black bears and cougars are more easily habituated to humans and therefore more bold about leaving back country regions and coming right down into the towns and villages residential areas.
