I recall a reference from the medieval or early modern period saying that a Scandinavian had a map showing the locations of regions like Vinland. But the particular map hasn't shown up.

I also recall a late medieval map of the North Atlantic that showed regions west of Greenland based apparently on a 14th century English monk's journey among Norwegians to Greenland. The monk composed a book called the Inventio Fortunata ("Fortunate Discovery") about the regions, but the book has since been lost, although partial summaries of the Inventio Fortunata survive.
