When you say "they do have two children" do you mean there's still a spouse in the picture?

Sorry all this is happening.

Is the sister expected to leave assisted living and return to her home?

It makes no sense for the dogs to live out their entire lives in an unoccupied house.

With almost no backstory about what might have led up to this ban and who the ban extends to, it's pretty difficult to comment. I suspect there's a rather large elephant in the room we aren't privy to. All we're getting is one side and it's sketchy. Sounds as if there's been a family falling out during a stressful time, misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and consequently, gross assumptions being made because of those hurt feelings. Other arrangements for pet care may be in place.

They have heart and kidney issues. Had to go to doctor appointments at least twice a week. Her twin would take her most of the time.

They do have two children. but one lives out of state. The one that lives by her would basically fix her meds. The DIL and grandkids didn't seem to ever visit.

I would help with her pets - bring them food - etc.

Well this week we were banned from her home. I was still going over there to feed the dogs. I guess they will starve now. I hope son and DIL will do the right thing.

DIL is a little wacky - the son just goes along with it. It is hard to believe that after all we did to help - they don't want us around. And no - we do not need any of her stuff in the house. They are already selling things.

I feel bad for her twin that did a lot for her.

Thanks for listening to me.

I am confused by the pronouns "We", "They", and "Her".

Well the backstory is basically that ill sibling told our niece to take the potted plants in the front yard. Ill siblings kids are not gardeners. So niece did. When DIL saw they were not there - all heck broke loose - .

Like I said - she is weird. So we are not going back there at all. Believe me - there is nothing in her house that we would want.

I would call local animal control/ local or state humane society or rescue grps about the dogs. Many of those grps + animal control have police powers and the DIL cant tell them to go away.

Right now the neighbor is tending to them. Makes sure they have water and food. They do have shelter - bedding etc.

Do keep in touch with the neighbor to see how things are going.

I would do this TODAY! The pets need food, water, and potty. They will die a very slow and painful death if not fed and watered.
