I don't participate since I can't locate what shelters are getting his kibble and how much kibble per "hit" on their site. Some of these are scams - nothing but addy-combers and ad pushers. Someone on FB said they donate like 5 pieces of kibble per hit.
If you really want to help these animals donate sacks of litter and as much food as you can afford to buy to local Shelters and Rescues.

If you go to the freekibble page & click on the 'about' button, a page will come up with a link to "shelters & food banks" that lists (by state) who they supposedly donate to. They could be lying, of course, so I guess it depends on how skeptical a person is. But you have that problem with any charity I suppose. That said, your idea to donate locally first hand is always a good one. In my case, my small town doesn't have a shelter, or I would probably do just that.
Anyway, even if they are only donating 5 pieces of kibble per click, that's still 5 that they didn't have before, and it costs me nothing to click the mouse button.
^^Couldn't agree more, catdad. Freekibble donates 10 pieces per click, and that does add up. It's just a few seconds out of your day, so what the heck? And I do donate goods and money to my local shelter when I can. I don't mind spreading it around!
Bring up the rear once again for holiday cheer to all kitties!
