What does eating have to do with a fantasy life? This is a bizarre post. A man is dead. It's sad because he was loved by millions. Can you say that? So what, we're just supposed to ignore good talent and entertainment because it offends some people that Matthew didn't live a healthy lifestyle? Have you ever heard of addiction? Have a heart and some respect for the dead.

gen x lost one of their own with perry's death. i think one reason gen x has experienced such shock at his death is because perry, a beloved tv character their age, was only 54. gen x has realized they, too, are mortal. that is a tough lesson.

i never saw friends nor any of his movies so know nothing of his work. i do know perry was obviously mentally unwell for decades because his problems were reported in the press. on the surface, he was a man who had it "all": looks, wealth, fame, love. yet, he couldn't have what we all crave: peace of mind. mental illness is a tragic disease that can kill rich or poor and anyone in between. i feel very sad for this man who suffered so long with this cruel disease.

i hope matthew perry has finally found that peace.

Gen X has faced the idea or mortality for decades. We lost icons early on. Kurt Cobain (who was pretty much the personification of Gen X), River Phoenix, Tupac, Alliyah, etc. Some have called us the "Dying Young Generation"

Years ago, Perry had a burst colon and was in the hospital over 5 months. He was given a small chance of surviving. He also lost all his teeth. The damage he did to his body from decades of drinking/drugging/relapsing was tragic. I guess it was only a matter of when, not if.

Speculation is a medication he was taking to avoid a relapse carries a warning to not use a hot tub while taking the med as the heat can cause one to pass out or other such dangers.

Unless I read the brochure wrong, it's a matter of when for every single person on the planet.

I'm surprised that Robert Downey Jr. is still around. Ditto Charlie Sheen. He's still alive, right?
Got to google...
