A few months ago I got a new phone to replace one that broke via my phone insurance. The phone they sent me is almost the same as my last one, but with very, very poor internal storage. I had a ton of apps on my last phone with plenty of room left over for more, but on this one after just a couple of apps I had run out of space. I started moving some (but it wouldn't let me move all of them) to SD, and I can't uninstall the ones I never use that came pre-installed (nor can I move those to SD, either).
So anyway, every few days certain apps download updates that can't be installed, due to low storage space. But the process of downloading the updates uses up a lot of data, and my data goes over every single month because of it.
Is there a way to either:
A) turn off auto downloads for updates
or
B) turn off data altogether when I start getting close to my limit so it won't go over
It is very annoying, and make me wonder why they would even make smartphones with such poor internal memory, and then not allow you move certain apps to SD, or let you download and install directly to SD, and also not allow you to remove unused pre-installed apps for more space. Very irritating.

You can turn off auto-updates for most apps.
Go to App Market, and delve into the apps. Android will check to see which apps have updates available and will put an Updates Available icon in the Notification bar.
When the Updates Available icon appears, most apps in the list will give you an Update page, with a selection box that will allow you to deselect auto update for that app.
I would cancel any updates in process to deselect auto updating.
Not being able to delete bloatware and not being able to move bloatware and other apps to the SD card is one of the weaknesses of using the Sprint EVO as well. If I keep this phone into next spring, I will probably root it.
Thanks! Most apps already had the auto update option unchecked, but a few didn't so I did uncheck them. Hopefully this stops them all!
