The last 2 days there has been a little yellow dot on my settings icon on my smart phone. But when I open settings, I see nothing that tells me why.

Any suggestions in solving the mystery?

It might help to know exactly what make/model # of the phone you are using. Any problems that you are having with the phone?

Is this the little notification dot on an app icon? Once in awhile I have the dot that won't go away on my Facebook Messenger icon app. What I do is go to Settings >> Apps >> Recently Opened Apps and then click on the specific app and do a "Force stop". After this I exit all the way out of App Info and close/lock my phone. Whet I reopen my phone, the dot is usually gone. I have the Pixel P7P.

No, it's not on an app. It's only on the settings icon.

Very strange. I've not had that happen. Hope you can find the cause.

ps... I just looked at my Apps and "Settings" is an app. Maybe open Apps and scroll down until you find Settings and "force stop" that?

And be cautious, I have the 7, not the 8 so things can be different between the 2 phones.
