My son will be going to the Citadel and I am thinking of buying a townhouse relatively nearby. I am just starting to look so am wondering about the considerations.
Budget
2. House/Condo/Townhome? => Townhome with garage - 2-3 BR
3. Employment Status(commute/work from home) ==> WFH
4. Children(public school vs. private) ==> prefer w/in 30 minute drive of the Citadel
5. Suburban, Coastal or Urban lifestyle preference or a mix of them together (or even Rural) ==> prefer a place that does not require the flood/wind extra insurance.
6. Amenities preferred or must-haves ==> 30 min drive or less to Citadel
7. Preferable demographics of desired neighborhood ==> safe neighborhood
If anything else is important, please add to the list above.
I prefer a townhome, looking for <$300K (i'm still working on the budget)
Can anyone point me to areas I should be looking? I've had one suggestion for West Ashley so far.
Any info appreciated as I've just started researching this.
I would like to have this townhome for frequent stays in Charleston.
You can find what you're looking for on James Island. I know of one with a garage that's about 15 min from the Citadel and in a good neighborhood (I live nearby).
When you choose "townhouse" do you mean a townhouse vs condo or would a two-story condo do as well?
Edit: The place I'm thinking of is in a flood zone though I'm not sure what the flood insurance costs are.
5hwre are new townhouse being build at The Park at Rivers Edge in No. Charleston For less than 200k. It's a beautiful gated community. Approximately 20 min From Citadel. No flood, wind or Hail ins.
