Since 2010, between 120-140 new jobs have been created through the urban renewal projects.

West Washington Street definately has a different look to it than it had 10 years ago.

Boy isn't this the truth, plus there is expected to be another phase of large scale urban renewal for the whole city. The new chair of the renewal board is looking at building some multi purpose buildings in downtown.

The East End is really booming right now. A lot has changed over the years, and I'm glad to see things come to fruition.

I love the area around Elizabeth St now. With the addition of Bluegrass Kitchen, Tricky Fish, and Fruit Cake, that area has become a prime location for new business. I could see a few stores opening up in some of those other buildings. The park beside the Clay Center is beautiful too!

And don't forget two upcoming events on the East End and West Side respectively.

Those two events have me intrigued. Where on Bigley Avenue is the OktoberWest?

Am I hearing that 'Action' Jackson is no more? Finally?
That 1500 block used to be a great area before the old homes were cut up into apartments.

Just googled the area and found a empty spot on the corner of Maxwell and Washington where I used to stock grocery's. I see the Empty Glass is still around, what about the Carpet?

Man I gotta get back home.

Red Carpet is still around and doing well. In fact they sponsor a pretty decent men's softball team.

Good to hear, always was a close knit group there. Went to some Reds games with em in the 70's. Geeesh it seems like yesterday, setting around waiting on the food, and trying to get Charlie to show how high he could jump!

New coffee shop opens on the corner of Lee and Morris Street on the East End. This place is really nice, and sounds like a one of a kind atmosphere.
