I was just laid off from a public relations agency due to financial cutbacks. I have 2 years experience as an Account Coordinator, writing and pitching national print publications in the Top 50 US markets, local, national TV and radio media outlets. I have worked on high profile accounts such as NASCAR, ESPN.com, Subway, ATP, Windstream Communications, Purina, Glaceau, Ironman, just to name a few and have worked successfully with presitious corporate clients and celebrities through onsite appearances and media tours. I have created & distributed program reports, media advisories and recap reports, conducted media outreach and developed press releases. Developed social media programs using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. to broaden demographics and generate unpaid publicity for client accounts using site metrics and analytics. Pitched and executed satellite and radio media tours on local and national levels and built relationships with web site producers, bloggers, national print publiction editors, national television affiliate producers and national radio station producers. I am used to working 50 to 60 hour weeks, as well as weekends. I give my all to my job and this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as my experience goes. I have a BA in Communications.
If you have connections or feel you can help me secure a position with a PR agency in the Charlotte area, I would sincerely appreciate it.
Hi!
I know it may sound crazy - but, what about relocating? To NYC? I had to when I was laid-off back in July. There were just so many more opportunities waiting for me...! What are your thoughts? I wish you well! Take care, Cheers! og
