Congratulations to Kasama for being the first Michelin starred Filipino restaurant.

The 13 course tasting menu is an eye watering $185 per person but they have their regular day menu serving traditional Filipino dishes if you are curious.

My advice, get in now before this place blows up even more!

We went in the fall and stood in line about 40 minutes outside on a Sunday morning to have the breakfast there. The breakfast was good, but the pastries inside are out of this world. Would love to go for the full dinner experience.

Filipino food is starting to blow up more, in general. Which is great to see.

ETA: The tasting menu price just went up from $185 to $215.

Kmanshouse, you are VERY active on here this morning!!! GREAT to see it!

SPEAKING of Filipino food, do you remember a few years ago when Jolibee first opened on Touhy Avenue in Lincolnwood, and on every weekend for a couple of months they had a tent for the outside lines to get in there to eat?!?

And after a 2 month wait I went in there with my kids..... And I don't recall being blown away buy it!

I only had Filipino food one another time, and it was in your neighborhood of Lincoln Square. It is Isla Pilipina, on Lawrence Avenue. And I was not blown away by that place, despite its good reputation.

So as you can see, based on a couple of these threads this morning: I am NOT a fan of Filipino food NOR Indian food!! LOL

...

Bulok, THANK YOU for sharing, as I know there is a big Filipino population on the north and north/west side, as well as other lovers of trying new cuisines. I am sure your recommendation will be highly appreciated.

So, thank you. And have a great day!

I have a HORRIBLY dull palate. As I said, I just have not GOTTEN into Indian food, Filipino food, etc.

Now, can we talk Italian, Mexican, Korean, or Chinese? Because THEN, I can at least CONTRIBUTE a thought!

LOL

What about Thai? There's a Thai restaurant in Berkeley that has people lining up out the door and down the block at lunch hour nearly every day.

If one likes Vietnamese, Little Saigon has some amazing authentic restaurants. Ravenswood has an awesome, super authentic Thai (Northern Thai) restaurant that I frequent regularly.
