Morning,

I'm moving to Chicago for a job at the Salesforce Tower and looking for suggestions on where to live.

A little bit about me:

- As an empty nester and single guy, I am 50 years old
- No, I don't cook at home (except for smoothies and drinks)
- Every night, I try to go out. Eating at whole-in-the-wall restaurants
- Eating ethnic food is my favorite thing.
- I do Yoga, so looking for a good one that I can walk to
- I don't plan on having a car.
- A one-bedroom condo within my budget is 4K.

I checked out https://wolfpointeast.com/. The good news is that it's near my office. The parking lots for both buildings are connected, so I don't need to walk to the office during winter. There doesn't seem to be any nightlife around the building, which is a negative.

The building I am looking at is shown on the map below. I would love to get recommendations on where I should consider living. Next week, I'll be in Chicago to find the right one.

Here is a link to the map I am using

Thank you

Jay

Wolfpoint East looks beautiful. The area is a little bit stale as you eluded to. The commute is ideal though, so would you rather commute to work or commute to restaurants/bars? At your budget you really can live anywhere for a 1 bedroom.

Since you can choose to live anywhere, I will say that the area around river north sounds fitting for a guy at your age. I find the beauty of some of the northern neighborhoods like Lincoln Park more appealing but you would have a 20 minute commute from some of those areas. Why don't you try Wolfpoint for a year and reevaluate? Hard to beat having no commute while living in a brand new building (which is beautiful).

NOTE: IF you do want to be more in the action but still have a short commute, move a little more east down Kinzie. Closer to Kinzie and Clark.

Thanks for the info. I signed a 1-year lease today with Wolfpoint. Kinzie and Clark is only about 10 min walk.

Surprised you didn't get more replies, but the end result seemed like a no brainer. Hope you enjoy the building and the area!

Note, I love Mercadito for some fancy mexican food. Their guac's are amazing, as are their tacos.
