Moving back to Cincinnati after decades away. Finding several houses that meet our requirements. The question I have is related to heating systems. Most houses have forced air gas furnaces, with only a few having steam boilers.

I don't really know what's better, cheaper, more efficient, or practicable.

Is there a difference in comfort or heating ability?

How difficult would it be to change from one system to another.

I appreciate all replies, especially from those with experience with either system.

A high efficiency forced air gas furnace is the best way to go regarding efficiency and finding an affordable tech that knows how to service it.

Hot water radiators or baseboards are sometimes found in older homes. Steam is rare. Since these systems have no ductwork or blower, if you want central air conditioning, you will need to have all that installed, at which point having a gas furnace installed instead of just a blower makes sense.
