I currently live in suburban Denver. While I only live about 18 miles from work, the commute is about 45 minutes on average. I am from Iowa and my wife is a Colorado native. We're seeking good schools, large home lots, low crime and bit of a slower pace.

My wife and I are considering positions with Cleveland Clinic. I have family in Kent/Ravenna and Hudson. We were back in November for Thanksgiving and my wife fell in love with Hudson. If we move, we're considering Hudson, along with Chagrin Falls and Solon areas. I'd like a lot that is at least 1 acre. I know that we're about 20 miles from the city, but my aunt that works at Univ Hospital, says her commute is only 25 minutes or so. Can that be true?

However, I am open to considering other burbs if you have any suggestions that meet what I stated above. I'm just more familiar with these areas.

Thanks

Solon and Sagamore Hills are great areas to check out in the SE suburbs. If you are looking to work at the Cleveland Clinic, those would be my first choices. The western suburbs offer a lot as well, but they are a far drive from the Clinic which is east of Cleveland's CBD. Around Solon and Sagamore Hills there are great school systems, safe neighborhoods, and great recreational areas. The Cuyahoga Nat'l Park sits right there. They have great bike and hiking trails, huge waterfalls, and many other activities. The Cuyahoga Nat'l Park is one of the most visited in the country. You are not far from Cleveland or Akron for the big city needs. If you need any info on any areas around Cleveland, please feel free to ask.

The Solon area is prime for people who want to work at the Cleveland Clinic... My aunt and uncle currently work there as nurses.... There are a lot of nurse/doctor types in Solon..
