I was just going to comment on the fact that I saw alot of really cheap(<75k) houses for sale on craigslist and was wondering if these are ghetto houses? Or if there are just alot of really nice, old houses for sale.

We were looking at houses last week around North Royalton, Broadview Heights, etc.... unbelievable how inexpensive it is compared to the west coast. We own a 2400 sq ft house built in 2003 in suburban Portland. For what we could sell our house right now (even in this terrible market), we could get a newer house with 3500-4000 sq ft, plus a full basement, plus either a huge lot or acreage (depending on location), nice neighborhood, nice school district, with the same commute to downtown Cleveland or University Circle that I have now (20-30 minutes). Amazing. Cleveland is an absolute steal right now.

hey airtics,, i can pay 30 yrs of taxes on my house (beautiful brick/fireplace/full basement 3100 sq ft in southern parma) at $3,200/YR. AND still the $96,000 i pay over 30 yrs doesnt even come close to off -setting what i would pay for the same house on the east and west coasts ! cactus leaguer you are correct, housing in metro cleveland is an absolute steal !

the property taxes here are just downright stupid... and now that Mayfield fell out of the top schools, i'm sure they are going to try to get a giant mil levy
