My husband is interviewing for a job in Cleveland and we are beginning to research Cleveland 'burbs. We'll be relocating from NJ. What is Solon like? Any other recommendations for a nice 'burb that has a quaint small town feel to it? TIA!

Well Solon is very nice. That was one of the areas that i was looking into when i moved to the Cleveland Metro from Pittsburgh. I found the SE suburbs to be very nice. I live in Westlake in the western suburbs. Very nice here too. Cleveland has alot of nice suburbs. I dont want to name them all. But check from the SE burbs to the SW burbs and then head to the western ones. Solon has alot of development going on right now. The town is growing at a good pace.
Geauga County is near by which is home to Geauga Lake and some really nice lakes to go boating and swimming on. I mean there are hundreds of lakes. But your also not far from Lake Erie and there are some really nice beaches there too. ESP up by Conneaut and Mentor-on-the-Lake. Also check out Fairport Harbor for nice beaches. Downtown Cleveland is about 45 mins away depending on traffic and it offers lots of entertainment and shopping. They say that Clevelanders always brag about how they go to downtown Cleveland and in Detroit how the suburbanites brag about how they dont even step a foot in downtown Detroit. Anyway Cleveland has a great downtown. And i think if you move to Cleveland you will like it. Solon has a nice small town feel to it and the people are friendly. But i will provide a link of the Cleveland metro its a map. But you write down some suburbs you might want to check out and then you will have a better idea of what to decide. Good Luck with your move and i will be here to answer any questions you might have.

Solon is the typical nice yuppie burb with new mc mansions getting built all over. The city has an excellent school system. It is close to Geagua Lake as mentioned that is an actual lake and an amusement park. The only negative about Solon is the traffic due to all the newcomers. Aurora road and SOM Center the major throughfares are always congested, and on the weekends when Geagua Lake is running at full blast, Aurora Road can be like a Parking lot.
