I didnt wanna mix this up with the other thread on board games as in this thread I wanna discuss what CLASSIC BOARD GAMES do you love having?
Right now I have 4 I have loved since I was younger (I just got all these in the last month or so )
1) Aggravation - 1970 version
2) Candyland - 1978 Version
3) Chutes and Ladders - 1978 Version (Just got this today)
4) Battleship - 1981 version
I will not get anything made after the mid 80s because its dumbed down pure crap (Nothing fun about them) compared to the GOOD board games I remember from the early 80s and before......
Games I love have been changed since the 80s and have become garbage... Its no surprise though seeing almost everything has!!

I had,
Monopoly,
Easy Money, (probably the '50 publication)
Chess,
Pirates & Travelers, (I had the '53 or '56 version)
Jutland, (the '67 issue)
U-boat, ('61)
Wff-'n-Proof, ('61)
And few others that I can't remember.
I lost them all and only replaced Chess.
Aggravation is my all time favorite board game. Been playing it since the mid 60's and still play it today when the family all gets together. We always play with the 6 marbles version of Aggravation 2 teams, 3 people on each team. Sometimes we would start playing around 8pm and play thru the night until about 3 or 4am. Every so often we'll play the shortcut way. Sometimes we'll make up our own rules, such as being allowed to move backwards in order to bump an opponent's marble and send it back to its's starting point. Sometimes we'll play a penny a bump. A game of Aggravation is always lots of fun and a good way to spend some quality family time together.
This is a great line-up.. Another good (heads-up) game played during the 8os was MasterMind. One player would line up a hidden sequence of different colored pegs. Opponent tries to recreate the sequence before his turns run out..
