A friend has one of these (circa 1906) and I wondered if anyone knows of any like it for sale (or even parts of it, like the top or the bottom).

I've seen them on ebay occasionally. But I am curious - what would you put in all of those little compartments? Craft supplies or something? I do like the vintage character of it...

I think this could be used as a display for some kind of small collection.

I have seen one used by a fly tier to hold all the feathers, furs, tinsel etc

The piece of wood laying against the wall appears to be Oak...but the desk doesn't look like Oak to me...looks like Pine.

Definitely oak all the way around except for the metal pipe stretchers.
