I have been trying to an oil lamp like the one my grandmother had years ago. I am afraid I do not have much to go on but here is what I remember: it had a ruby red base and chimney was clear with a ruby red tip. The base was not smooth it had little bumps (like marbles) covering it.
If someone knows this pattern or has one of these lamps I would love to hear from you.

Interesting enough I have two red base oil lamps, the base is smooth red glass with clear glass chimneys and white hobnail shades, have had them for very many years and they sit on my fireplace mantel. I suspect that the little bumps you are referring to is called hobnail.
