No, I don't know anything about it but I had a somewhat similar one in a Victorian house I rented. It was in the bedroom which I think had originally been the dining or living room. "My" fireplace wasn't as ornate as that but it did have those circular things that yours has, the concentric circles in the corners. I think that house was probably from around 1830 or so, can't remember now.
Things usually start out plain and tend to get more ornate as the style evolves. Yours is really ornate.
