We are stimulating the economy by having new windows put in at our farm house.

Out came some old window sash weights, which I had planned to scrap (they are cast iron, not lead, I found out). But when I looked on the internet, I saw that people put them up for sale at around $10 each.

Do people really buy these things? What do people do with them? I'll offer them for sale if I know who might buy them and why!

They make a good weight for the end of a trot line.

Sometimes people are rebuilding their old windows when they are restoring an old house.

My family used them for weights in lobster pot traps.

FB Marketplace, good idea! I was going to scrap them at about $0.05/lb but if I can get even a buck or two apiece it would be worth it!
