I’ve been out the market for about 25 years now. My town isn’t big on comics. There’s only two designated comic book stores and they’re barely staying in business. They even have signs that say they’re not buying comics. I’d hate to go the EBay route but I don’t want to just give them away. May spend my time researching the values of each individual issue and sell them at the low end of the estimate if the value makes even the effort worth the time. If not I may donate them like to a library.
That's because you have to go to shows, or deal on the net. I am curious what is being given away? Stuff from the 1990ish period that is mostly worthless?
There has been a comic book shop in business, that has been in three different locations for 45 years around here. And still very popular. I bought Marvel Spotlight #5, and Werewolf By Night #32 among others from this shop when they were essentially worthless in 1981. And then you have Steve Geppi.
I think some of you are in small towns........which means there isn't much of anything.
I should add, the grade (condition) makes a huge difference. If there's even one tiny 1/4" dog-eared corner, or one loose staple, or a tiny tear, their value drops greatly. Best to slide them into plastic sleeves (sold on Amazon).
Anyway I regret not getting some older books over 15 years ago. They would have been in the low hundreds at the time, and now are pulling 10K plus........and that's if you can find them.
At least I can still get money records for nothing.........
Did you ever go to the Geppi Museum? I'm really glad that my wife and I went there shortly before it closed. Saw some Silver-age comics that had been passed between my brother and his friends, and many toys that were owned by me or my friends, or that I remembered seeing on TV or in stores.
Too bad that the Geppi Museum and the Pinball Museum couldn't sustain their operations.

No, although I was near it often.
I have to admit that I liked some of this stuff when I was a kid, but briefly.
I don't remember it being cool to be into comics although some liked the characters. You were a bit of a dork. Especially by the time you were a teenager. (Remember the Jocks, and the Freaks?)
Now I am a flipper, and am always looking for money and know the market somewhat. And managed to have a few books of value. I will part with them in the near future. (I only have a couple books of any real value)
