I just noticed that my daughter's passport expired recently. No post offices seem to have Saturday passport service hours anymore, but per the USPS site, the Air Force Academy Post Office has walk-in hours. That post office is on the Academy grounds. Are civilians allowed onto the Academy grounds to go to the post office?

Thanks!

Shouldn’t you just call the post office there?

I tried calling all day. No one ever picked up the phone.

If you’re in Monument, you are probably less than 20 minutes from the Academy Post Office. Drive there and see what happens. What other option do you have at this point?

Of course. We’re going tomorrow. The alternative is keeping the appointment I made on a weekday in a couple of weeks and taking off from work.

Yes civilians are allowed on base now. Rules linked above show details. I believe they also are requiring masks for all visitors. Once on base you can go most places. Guards at entrance may ask your destination, simply tell them and they will be able to give you assistance in directions.

Passport hours are narrower than regular office hours. Saturdays the office is open 8-1 but passport processing is 9-12.
