Hello, I was wondering if someone more familiar with the Springs could help me out. I live outside the county but travel to CS four days a week. My area is severely lacking in many service areas, and I am in need of a quality tailor. I just need to get sleeves shortened on a wool topcoat but don’t want to risk just taking it to the first place that pops up on a Google search. Can anyone recommend a good tailor in the area?

I'm not sure about tailors, but this men's clothing store may be a good source. They've been around a long time and I'll bet they know someone who does what you need.

And there's this place (Google is your friend): https://www.mariastailorshop.com/

Thanks I will check out rutledges.

Yes, I am aware of how to use Google but asked here at the forum because I thought that there might be someone who has had experience with a particular shop. Thus the reason I stated that I “ don’t want to risk just taking it to the first place that pops up on a Google search”.

I understand. Some people don't think to do a search, but yes, it's nice to get a direct reference. I added that second link because that place won a "best of" for 2021. Hopefully someone who's used a tailor will come along with some recommendations.

I've used Mark's Cleaners on North Academy before and had good luck. It's super low key, but the work was great.

I understand as well. Unfortunately the internet is full of people who want to put in the least amount of effort.

Thanks again for suggesting Rutledges. They offer tailoring, but only on items purchased at their store. The person I spoke with was very nice though and suggested a place called the Button, the Needle and the Wardrobe. I dropped my coat of there earlier this week and will update this when I get it back in case anyone else is searching for tailoring service.

You're welcome. Glad you got a good reference. I've been looking for someone to do alterations, so will look forward to your assessment of that business.
