Saturday morning sunrise. Supposed to be 102 today, but it’s 66 right. Enjoying coffee on the patio.

I'm taking a driving trip to Colorado in 6 weeks...just to explore. Been there before...loved it. I retire in 3 years. Colorado is on my short list of where to move to. I love the west and mountains in particular.

I'm honing in on Grand Junction/Montrose. COcheesehead....your photos definitely make it an easy choice!

Here is one of my favorite pictures of mine from Colorado. Taken in 2015. Top of the Rockies.

Went to a great, little winery today. Estate grown Cab, Merlot and Cab franc.

Black Canyon NP’s north rim is just outside Crawford, about an hour or so south of Grand Junction. Spectacular National Park. The north rim is much less visited than the south rim which is closer to Gunnison/Montrose.
We hiked to Green Mountain, about 7 miles round trip.

Grand Junction is developing 58 acres along the Colorado River in what used to be a junkyard. They are calling it Riverfront at Dos Rios, the two rivers, since it is close to where the Gunnison and Colorado rivers connect.
The ground breaking was the other day. The city needs more urban housing and mixed use space next to downtown. I think this project will be an enhancement to the area and get rid of what has been long standing blight.

Getting closer to harvest time here in the valley. Whites will be harvested in a week or two, reds to follow. Vineyard dogs watching it all.
