From this weekend's travels:
1. Marble / Crystal / Redstone will probably be at peak next weekend (Oct 5/6)
2. Aspen / Independence Pass / Twin Lakes - about perfect 9/29
3. Leadville / Freemont Pass - almost past peak
4. Silverthorne / Blue River Valley / Kremmling / Grandby - perfect 9/29
5. Grand Lake / RMNP west side - a couple of days away from perfect. Probably near peak next weekend (Oct 5/6)
6. Rocky Mountain National Park - East side - getting close up high, but a week or more away down lower.

Went to Kenosha Pass on Sunday, and colors were definitely at peak then. GORGEOUS day, but windy in morning.

Btw, we were there by about 10:15, and it was already packed, so if you are going this weekend (color should still be at least somewhat good), you might want to plan on getting there early.

Went to Rocky Mountain National Park today. All trees at or past prime, except in the very lowest elevations, e.g. just west of Boulder/Lyons. There are definitely not a lot of Aspen on the drive up US 36. More on Highways 7/72/119 through Allenspark, Nederland (our route home). There was a line to get into RMNP at noon on a Thursday.

Returning home from RMNP today and while foliage was nice, especially near Bear Lake, I was most impressed with foliage around Nederland. Agree with Katrina that Estes Park side of RMNP was a little crowded but enjoyed observing the Elk rutting.

I'm jealous! We did not see any elk, but did see a moose and some wild turkeys (birds, not alcohol).

Wonder how this snowstorm will affect the foliage.

Fall colors were late.. but ended up good. These pictures were taken this last weekend near Elevenmile res in Park County. Definately past peak now up there but the snow that is supposed to happen tomorrow might be intresting for pictures (but man.. really cold temps for this time of year).
