It looks like another psycho went off the rails. He died mysteriously. It could have been another mass casualty event. Copycats coming out.

According to the Garfield County Sheriff's Office, the man was dressed in black-colored tactical clothing, with patches and emblems that gave the appearance of being associated with law enforcement. The suspect was heavily armed with a semi-automatic rifle and semi-automatic handgun and multiple, loaded magazines for both weapons.

He was wearing body armor and what appeared to be a ballistic helmet, according to investigators. Multiple improvised explosive devices, or IEDs, were discovered with the suspect and a vehicle associated with him. The Grand Junction Bomb Squad responded to the scene and they rendered the devices safe.

I don't understand why we allow the sale of look-alike police and fire badges. We don't allow fake I-Ds, passports, drivers licenses, or currencies, so why allow this. Worse, we allow sales of military / police style weaponry/accessories, body armor and helmets. Never makes any sense to me.

This thread will quickly get ugly, at which time I'll either close it or move it to a more appropriate forum.

Here's a source that allowed me in without have to turn off my ad-blocker.

Not sure what was going on with this guy, the park is closed until 10 November when it opens for the Winter season.

We'll see what happens come 5 p.m. news time comes on. I had heard it on the radio, just got into town this afternoon. Disturbing is the word all right. KKCO-11 is Mesa county's NBC affiliate, will be looking in on this one. And I'm with Mike on the badges on this story!

I strongly disagree with you on those points (as would the people of Ukraine and the Gaza strip). Saying more would probably get me in trouble, so I will leave it there

Diego Barajas Medina died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, said Garfield County Coroner Robert Glassmire.

Finally! The guy started with himself before going on the rampage!
