Thank you again gguerra for your info! I was actually wanting to just get a new TV soon anyway...NOT due to this dimming issue, but I wanted a newer, little larger one Smart 4K one anyway.
I have my Roku streaming stick+ plugged into my HDMI 2. I still have cable TV (for now, but my days are limited) which shows nice & bright on HDMI 1. I also have a video game console in another & it's not dim either. I could re-plug the Roku into HDMI 3 just to see.
or since it's nice and bright, HDMI 1 just momentarily to see if that's your issue.
OK, swtiching the HDMI 1 & 2 ports made it brighter! The Roku has to be in the HDMI 1 position. Thank you again marguerite2!
Now, it looks like it might make my regular TV dim since it's the in the HDMI 2 position, so I may have to keep plugging in whatever I'm watching at the time to HDMI 1 & I still watch regular TV (cable) a lot more.
