Does anyone have an Ember mug, 10 ounce? I got one as a gift either Christmas of 2019 or 2020 and I love it. I don't think I would have spent the money for this and I didn't think I'd like it so much, but I do! I only use it for 1 cup of coffee each day.
Right now it's not keeping my coffee hot, I'm wondering how long the battery is supposed to last. When I google it's not very informative. dual lithium-ion batteries.
Quote:
The Ember uses dual lithium-ion batteries. The life time of the battery will be different for each user based on how you use your mug. While unlikely you’ll run into any trouble within the warranty, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns as we are always happy to help.
Does anyone have one of these? Is 1.5 (or 2.5) years the most I'll get out of a battery of this type? Is there any other type of coffee mug like this that works as well and is cheaper?
Since no one replied (I know, very specific topic), I'll reply.
I emailed their support desk today asking if the battery in the mug can die within a year or two, of course they didn't say yes, they said, under certain circumstances, yes. Since the mug is either 1.5 or 2.5 years old and out of warranty, they will send me a replacement mug for $49. I gladly accepted because I am a fan of this mug and after not being able to use it for a few days, I really miss it. I didn't tell them that I was willing to buy a new one at their full retail price of $129.
The email exchange with the rep assigned to my ticket was flawless, I would recommend this company just for that reason alone!
I love stuff like this. But 129 bucks..lol. Enjoy it since you didn't pay for it.
The company sent the new mug FedEx, I'm happy now. It does have 1 problem, it unpairs from my phone every few days. You don't have to pair it to use it, but my phone gets a message to pair it so that can be annoying. I don't know if the problem is the mug, the app or my old Google Pixel 4XL which I plan to replace once the 7 comes out in October.
