Hey there all!

My wife and I are looking into moving to the Orange Grove / Corpus Christi area.

We are looking for some help from locals that live there. Does the area have lots of mosquitos? Even at 40-50 miles inland from the water? If so are they year round?

We live in Florida pandhandle in Pensacola (gulf coast) and my wife gets eaten alive here and doesn't want to come outside much (She is from the dry High deserts.) She was talking of Northern Lubbock, but I feel it's to far north and not sure if I want snow.

But I was hopeful of the area because there doesn't seem to be as many trees and bushes as we have hear, (seems more rocky than swampy) plus perhaps more of a breeze, since we don't get it here.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated!!

They aren't around during winter. I also doubt they will be as bad as where y'all are from. But further west will be even more safe from mosquitos.

Ok, Thanks for the feedback!

I just though since it seems that Texas looks like its split in half.. East Texas seems green and everything that comes along with humidity.. trees, green, bugs, floods, soft clay /sandy soil... but the other half (WEST) cut right along Dallas to Corpus Christi seems to be more dry, rocky etc.

Just thought it would be dryer without the critters and specifically mosquitos

It's still pretty green around the coastal bend. It's not until you get further west it gets more dry.
