"Person who committed a crime"
"Individual who was incarcerated"

More simple, honest, direct language out the door. Felons and convicts are not "Individuals who were incarcerated", they're felons and convicts. If there's anyone that doesn't deserve politically correct labels, they're felons.

Of the dozen or so major theories of criminology, the labeling theory is the one most of the left gravitates toward. It says that society forces criminals re-offend because they label the offender with a moniker that makes it impossible for him to go straight.

Most of the rest of the field simply sees it as finding someone other than the offender to blame for his offending.

By the way, in criminology we call the person who violated the law the 'offender.' He offends against societies laws.

Should be interesting to see how they go forward with this policy, since Title 18 (the US criminal code) and the US Sentencing Guidelines are repleat with references to (prior) convictions and felonies.

In honor of Prince, how about "A person formerly known as a felon."

Just shows how low the left will stoop in order to get votes. This is what it's really about.

The left wants us to believe that society makes the decision for criminals and that they don't act on their own. It's never the fault of the criminal, it's always someone else's fault.

Why is it that so many Americans never have issues with the criminal justice system? I think it's pretty easy, you follow the laws, don't attract police attention and your life ends up being pretty much trouble free.

Works for me, bonus when you help the local cops and you get pulled over for minor traffic violation, you get a warning!

See folks there is karma
