Ok so i have started taking biking as a way to lose my 50 to 60Ibs this summer. Right now I weigh 220 and am 5'7. I want to bring my weight down to 150 to 163. And was wondering what would you recommend to bring my weight down this fast and in three months as well. I was planning on biking like all day and go towards a city I haven't been before. And once I was there I would just relax for half an hour before I plan on cruising through the city. I also am planning on biking through the forest preserves. Iam also wondering what to do when my butt hurts because it's been a while since I've sat on something as uncomfortable as the bike. Will I eventually get use to the seat and my butt will hurt no more? I am also young(21 this 6/25) so that will benefit me as well?
I'm a reg'lar bike rider and the first few rides in the spring of the year always kill my a$$. Trust me, Mexi, it gets better as time progresses. Kinda like guitar players building up callouses on their fingers. You have a plan and if you stick with it, it will become nothing less than a sheer joy to ride - all the time! There's nothing like it. Good Luck and eat responsibly too!
Mexi - Look for local bike events. Yes, there's usually a fee, but it's typically a charity event so you'll be doing something nice for someone else too. Start with the shorter rides and plan on an "all out" ride towards the fall. Around here, in late Sept., early Oct. it's the MS city to shore ride, Cherry Hill, NJ to Ocean City, NJ. It's a 2 day event, a 100 miles or so each day. Of course, there are shorter rides too on day 1. Good luck.
