After visiting 55+ communities..My wife and I put Roesville at top of list. We have been there a number of times. But due to illnesses we had to put off moving. 2015 looks like the year. I am no longer able to find site...you get directed to Hovnanian's New Jersey web site. I found a real estae site that said building had been halted. Can anyone comment on whats going on? Thanks

We are building at another 55+ community and we were told in Sept. by someone "in the know" that the builder had pulled out of Roesville and that there were partially finished houses where the wood was weathering. I tried to pull up an actual news report on it but could never find one. I did notice in the last newsletter that I get from Active Adult Realty that the only homes available there were resales.

I'd highly recommend getting in touch with Goin'2DE, who is a resident of Roesville and a frequent contributor to the now lightly used "55+ Communities" thread in Delaware. The last posting I note from her on that board was in May, but I'm certain you could get the inside info from her.

Good luck!

It is true that construction has been temporarily halted at Roesville. It seems that there is an ongoing dispute between the developer and the builders. We have been told that J.S. Hovnanian is in the process of looking for another builder to take over, but at this point nothing has been settled. The two homes that were partially completed have been removed and those sites have been cleared. Hopefully any new builder will continue with Hovnanian's tradition of building quality homes.

Meanwhile, we current residents have become a tight knit community and continue to enjoy our homes and friends here at Roesville. We are a very active group and have regular social gatherings here at our little club as well as group breakfasts and lunches at local restaurants, and trips to cultural sites and events. Life is good here. It's just too bad that many of you will not have the opportunity to join us...at least for the moment.

Be well all, and have a Happy, Healthy 2015.

It's good to know that you are still interested in Roesville. There is one home here that is for sale. The owners have decided that they want to move closer to their family that lives out of state.
And "Happy 2015" to all who visit this forum.

Smuckerjam, just in case you don't know....

If you click on the person's name (i.e., Goin'2DE), you can send them a direct message. They may see this faster and looks like you have a short time constraint!

Good luck - EED

Has anyone kept up with what is going on with the ROESVILLE Estates community? My wife and I just came across it on some web sites but do not see one dedicated to it. Has a new builder taken over? Any new homes?
