Hi All, I am moving to DE on my third trimester....if someone can please help me get an estimate of total costs for Cesarean section and normal delivery in Christiana Hospital? i do not have insurance but would not want to use Medicaid as I can afford to pay but not as much as 10T though... I heard Christiana Hospital is good but I need to know how much it is as I do not want to be caught unprepared.

Any other hospital with reasonable rate will help me...

I put a normal (non c-section) delivery into the payment calculator on my insurance website. The cost at Christiana is just under $30,000. My member rate would be just over $11,000. Remember this amount is just for you. You could also be billed for the doctor, the epi-dural, and the baby separate from this. Although the website says this is for you and the baby.

Paying cash is going to be a different rate than through an insurance company, usually less than, say, the 30K. Have you called Christiana to ask? I don't know that they will give you a cash rate, but it's a worth a try.

I think she ( the OP) may have had her baby already.
This is an old post plus it's federal law now that everybody must have maternity health insurance.
And pediatric optometry.
And pediatric dental.
Even if you are on a plan for an individual man.
I'll leave it at that so as not to get political.
