I just renewed mine in March. At the bottom of the card, it says "9a End NONE" and directly under that, in small print, "Rev 02-08-2010".

I decided to look into this, just in case the DMV was saying that I had my license revoked in 2010 (I have never had it revoked). In fact, I wasn't in the DMV at all between 2008 and 2013, had no traffic violations in that time, and couldn't figure it out.

Googling reveals nothing, although the sample license on the DMV website also has this "Rev 02-08-2010" wording at the very bottom. So it must be something that's getting put on all the licenses now. But what does it mean? Anyone know?

Don't panic! I believe you will discover that it simply means that the form was "revised' on 2/8/2010.

Most forms ( particularly federal, state and local government forms) need a means to insure you are using the correct most up to date form. This is a common practice with government forms and most larger business forms when modifications are made to the original form. The form maintains it's original form name (i.e. drivers license) and when a revision to the form is made you will see such a notation on the form indicating that this form is the revised edition of the form.

Some federal forms get revised several times a year - so it is a quick way to determine if you have the most current revision.

Thanks Mary. I was hoping it was something mundane like that. At the same time - do they really have to put that on my license? Even my husband, looking at it, said "It says here your license was revoked in 2010?" I just hope it doesn't mean someone down the line (for instance, someone I'm trying to rent an apartment from) looks at me suspiciously because of that. Oh well, at least I know what it means, now.
