Hi,

A friend of mine has received a promotional opportunity in Middletown, DE. We would like to visit in January and check out the area. Does anyone have any suggestion regarding where to fly in - Philadelphia or Wilmington; the distance from Philadelphia or Wilmington; names of hotels in the area and anything we should see while in town for the weekend?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you can fly into the New Castle County Airport, that is much closer than Philly; but I''m not sure about car rentals there.

Middletown is growing very fast, and I think there is a Hampton Inn. I was just driving through Middletown on Saturday evening and was amazed at how much growth there has been in the past several months.

I don't think there is any real sightseeing there, but if you rent a car, there are lots of places in the Wilmington and Brandywine areas including Winterthur, The Brandywine River Museum, etc.

Default Fly into Newark, NJ.

Philly is too far into the city, takes hours to get out, or if you can get a flight into Wilmington that would be even better then Newark, NJ. Otherwise, Middletown is a lovely area, growing and nice. Good Luck.

Maybe this person is thinking Middletown, NJ???? Info would be most correct in that case. For Middletown, DE, go into Philly Airport. Get on I-95 south as you exit the airport to Rt 1 in DE, then south on Rt 1 right into Middletown, DE. Less than 45 min on the road. Newark NJ is 3+ hours away.

DE resident for 35 years, originally from Jersey. Know my way around.
